A Child Positioning Himself or Herself Against the Other Parent
Sometimes a child plays one parent against the other. A parent must stop this with a quick level-headed response. A parent does not need any added leverage from a child, and the child does not need to get accustomed to using any leverage to get what he or she desires. Unchecked, this manipulation by a child will increase as time passes. Both parents should consult with one another, and the response should be consistent and well thought out.
