According to Kentucky laws, you and the other parent should consider the following factors when making decisions regarding the development of your parenting plan:
1. The wishes of the child's parent or parents.
2. The wishes of the child.
3. The interaction and interrelationship of the child with his or her parent or parents, his or her siblings, and any other person who may significantly affect the child's best interests.
4. The child's adjustment to his or her home, school, and community.
5. The mental and physical health of all individuals involved.
6. Information, records, and evidence of domestic violence.
7. The extent to which the child has been cared for, nurtured, and supported.
The Kentucky courts realize you and the other parent know your own situation better than anyone else, which is why this is your opportunity to create a parenting plan that will maintain a family structure that is in the best interests of your child(ren).
